I.C.A.R.E. Intergenerational Fund
The I.C.A.R.E. Intergenerational Center fosters meaningful connections between youth and older adults through programs that promote mutual learning, support, and community engagement. By bridging generations, I.C.A.R.E. strengthens community bonds and encourages positive interactions that benefit all participants. Support through donations helps sustain vital activities such as reading initiatives, pen pal exchanges, service learning projects, and community gardening, all designed to enrich lives and build a safer, healthier, and more inclusive community.
These intergenerational programs encourage peer mentoring, volunteerism, and shared experiences that enhance social connections and personal growth. From supporting students facing reading challenges to pairing them with older adult pen pals and involving both groups in service projects and gardening, I.C.A.R.E. provides diverse opportunities for connection and collaboration. Partnerships with local schools, senior centers, and Fort Riley Soldiers further strengthen these efforts, creating a vibrant support network and interaction across ages.
